Anyone with a Twitter account was bombarded with Academy Awards tweets last night. A search for #oscars resulted in literally hundreds of tweets per second (most of which read something along the lines of "I'm watching the Oscars!"). There were, however, a few Twitterers who really brought the wit last night. Here are some of the best:
@stuckeymurray Is Marisa Tomei wearing a stack of napkins?
@adamwade did you hear that sound? it was 50 million tv's being turned off

Referring to the orchestra playing the various nominees for best original score:
@Goose What - Jackman couldn't sing this stuff?
@paulscheer Jai Hole is the dirtiest non vulgar word said on national television.
@irockiroll I hope the Brothers & Sisters movie gets nominated. intensity!
In response to the flurry of tweets asking why they didn't include Heath Ledger in the death montage:
@barvonblaq Everyone calm down. They did Ledger last year.
@Twitterkins Great idea, playing "The Magnificent Seven" theme to welcome FIVE PEOPLE.
@caitorade Tina Fey and Robert Pattinson are like angel and devil on Mickey Rourke's shoulders.
