In case you missed the show on Friday, The Roots (and very special guest Erykah Badu!!!) paid tribute to Michael Jackson by performing his hits in and out from each commercial. I was lucky enough to stand in the studio to witness this, and it was amazing. Check it out: watch the full episode here.
In the meantime, you absolutely must check out this Michael Jackson video from 1989, for his song "Liberian Girl." I had never seen this before, despite being an MTV junky back then. Anyway, to attempt to describe it in words would be futile. All I can say is that it's kind of a time capsule for 1989 - because seriously, every single famous person from 1989 is in this video.
