Phew. Who would have thunk! After five weeks, the Detroit Lions are undefeated, Peyton Manning hasn't played a snap, and Tim Tebow was just named starting quarterback for the Denver Broncos. And the 7th Floor West Moose is in desperate need of a win. Yup, Jimmy's team is on a three game losing streak, but the bright side is the meat of his schedule looks to be behind him. Three of his four losses came to the current top three teams in the league. So with that being said, lets take a look at last weeks match-up against, well me, Team Terrible (editors note: it wasn't a pretty win, but a W is a W).
The 7th Floor West Moose's offense had a lousy day putting up a total of only 46pts. A good offense starts with the quarterback, and The Moose is in need of one. The Buc's Josh Freeman thew for 187yds and 2 pics producing a total of only 2pts, but it wasn't only on the quarterback. The Moose's receivers had a dismal day with Plaxico Burress having only three catches for a total of 42yds and Mike Williams pulling in only 28yds off four snags which led him to produce zero real life or fantasy points.
Running Back Maurice Jones-Drew still proves to be Jimmy's most consistent player, but outside of Maurice The Moose's running backs aren't putting up many numbers. Former Ole Miss standout and utility man Dexter McCluster is having a bit of slump right now only pulling in one catch for 10yds and four rushes for 8yds.
In the end, Team Terrible was able to hold of The Moose and remain undefeated (knock on wood). Even without playing a tight end, I was able to rely on my group of young wideouts who are quickly establishing themselves as elites in the League. Former Georgia star A.J Green proved to be too much for The Moose hauling in another touchdown and racking up 90 receiving yards. Even with Atlanta's Julio Jones going out early with a hamstring, Mike Wallace from the Steeler's continued with his consistent play and pulled in another touchdown snag. Which ultimately helped my team squeak by another week and stay unbeaten.
Below is week three's results against my squad, Team Terrible:

That's all she wrote. She being the football gods writing in the great book of the gridiron. However, all hope is not lost for 7th Floor West Moose. Some of the team's best backs were sitting on the bench last week due to Bye weeks. What's this mean? Expect a big game out of The Moose in week 6. The worst is behind, and a very manageable schedule awaits. Next up: Stage Manager Nicka Tolmasoff's team, Team Trashy Tinkers. She's sixth in the league with a 3-2 record, but looks to be on a roll since she switched her quarterbacks. Will she be able to direct her team to a victory over The Moose? Only time will tell. As my old football coach used to say, "be a blind dog in a meat house".
