Boo! You know what that was? The sound of a scary week of football. The NY Giants barely escaped the winless Dolphins and The Detroit Lions got back on track after annihilating the Broncos. Although the scariest part of week 8 might be the Philadelphia Eagles and Pittsburgh Steelers who proved that when all cylinders are hitting they are tough teams to beat. Another team that seems to be getting tricked more than treated is our beloved 7th Floor West Moose.
The Moose just can't catch a break. If the receivers are playing well, the running back aren't. If the running backs aren't, the quarterback is, and so on. Week 8 was no different. The Moose just couldn't get all of it's players to play well at the same time. Steven Jackson tore up the field with 159 rushing yards and two TD's raking in 30pts. Unfortunately for The Moose, it's receivers brought in a combined 3pts between New Orleans Robert Meachem and Dallas' Miles Austin who are usually both very productive.
For Team Strong Arm, running the rock proved to be the formula for success. Texans star and former University of Tennessee standout Arian Foster continues to be reliable on the ground with 112yds and a TD, while the other back Maurice Morris from Detroit added a touchdown as well. Eli continues to put up consistent numbers throwing for 349yds and a pair of TD's. Add those all together, and you've got a recipe for a defeat against the 7th Floor West Moose.
Here's how it all broke down for The Moose:
And now for Team Strong Arm's Results:
With three weeks left to play, the 7th Floor West Moose needs to find a hot streak and find it fast. If there's a favorable match-up, it comes this week against the Broad St Bullys. They are tied with two of the worst records in the league. As my coach used to always say, even sun shines on a dogs butt every once in awhile. The Moose sure could use a little sunshine.
