On Friday, everyone's favorite Muppet duo, Statler & Waldorf, surprised Jimmy as he interviewed Jason Segel. Jason called the two the "oldest bromance of all time." But let's not forget the bigger point here: there were Muppets on LNWJF! Awesome. Also, below, check out other highlights from Friday's show. The full episode is here.

Our beloved Chattanooga Mocs were eliminated from the NCAA tournament yesterday after a loss to UConn. We still have Mocs fever and are proud of our team going to the big dance. Even though the loss was tough, Jimmy had some good words for our Mocs:

Also, Jaime Pressly from My Name Is Earl and I Love You, Man talked with Jimmy:

Mocs Madness Update

As you've probably heard we are crazy about the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga MOCS and are rooting for them in the NCAA Tournament. Mocs fever y'all! Time is ticking down to the big game so here are some ways you can stay connected on what we're doing:

  • Watch LNWJF over the next few days. We have tons of Mocs Madness planned for the show.
  • If you're on Twitter, follow @LateNightJimmy. Mocs updates will be Tweeted. What's a Twitter? Check out handy tutorial here.
  • And keep checking back here for more Mocs videos from the show and other Mocs related posts.

And here's a bonus. Mocs alumnus and former mascot Erik Gray got in touch with me and sent me some pictures of Mocs memorabilia (Mocsabilia?) just to remind us that the Mocs went to the Sweet 16 back in 1997. Thanks Erik! So get ready, Big Dance. HERE COME THE MOCS! Stay tuned!

UPDATE: More depth. The Mocs also won the 1977 NCAA Division II National Championship.

Last night, Jimmy threw his weight behind the NCAA Tournament underdog / dream team, University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. (For a ton of reasons why UTC rules, check this out.) Mocs fever continues tonight on the show and here's an exclusive sneak peek (including an original song by The Roots about UTC's coach, John Shulman)!

Why We're Rooting For The UTC Mocs In The NCAA Tourney

Posted by Cory Cavin March 17, 2009 2:00 PM

The NCAA Tournament is just around the corner and March Madness is HERE. We at LNWJF love a Cinderella story, so we are proud to support our pick for the tourney, the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Mocs. Last night Jimmy rolled out our full support of the UTC Mocs in the big dance and today we wanted to give some background on our team. Why are we so stoked on the Mocs? Here's a few reasons:

  • Former NY Knicks shooting guard Gerald Wilkins was a Moc.
  • Their current chancellor is Dr. Roger Brown. Which reminds me of Roger Moore. Which reminds me of JAMES BOND. Awesome.
  • Dennis Haskins, aka MR. BELDING from Saved By The Bell, went to school there. Heeeellooo!
  • In their list of buildings, they once had the "Old Math Building". Keepin' it simple. I like that. (via Wikipedia)
  • Terrell Owens went there! T.O.! That's boss.
  • Aaaand, we love a Cinderella. The NCAA Tourney is the greatest college sports tournament because anything can happen. So we got the Mocs. They went to the Sweet 16 in 1997 and in 2008 ESPN ranked them #48 of most prestigious college basketball programs since 84'-85' (thanks again, Wikipedia).

GO MOCS!!
