shoemaker.jpgEmmy-winning producer Michael Shoemaker came to "Late Night" after more than twenty years with "Saturday Night Live," where he began in 1986.

In his tenure at "SNL," Shoemaker performed virtually every job imaginable on the show from film research and talent booking to hiring writers and scouting for performers to join the cast. He became a producer on the show in 1990. In addition, Shoemaker has overseen the show's signature "Weekend Update" segment since 1998 with anchors Colin Quinn, Tina Fey & Jimmy Fallon, and Amy Poehler & Seth Meyers.

A 5-time Emmy nominee for "SNL" (Outstanding Variety Series), Shoemaker received an Emmy Award in 2000 for producing the SNL 25th Anniversary special and a Writers Guild Award for his writing on that special.

In addition to "SNL," Shoemaker worked as a writer for Fallon when he hosted the MTV Video Music Awards (2001) and MTV Movie Awards (2005).

Shoemaker will continue his collaboration with Fallon as he joins him for the Emmy Awards this August.

Shoemaker began his TV career working in the CBS stockroom and later as a P.A. for the WCBS local news. He lives in Westchester, NY with his wife and three children.
