Ok, I know, I like to have fun with names. As a sports fan I've heard a lot of these hilarious baseball player names a bunch of times and have even seen some of them grouped together, mostly on other sports sites, so today I bring to you, the non-sport fan (or sport fan) Hilarious Actual Professional Athlete Names: Baseball Edition!
1. MILTON BRADLEY
He didn't become a master of board games but at least he grew up to play a game for a living.
2. COCO CRISP
He sounds like a delicious chocolate-y cereal but he plays center field for the KC Royals.
3. ALBERT PUJOLS
Perhaps the best player in baseball, also has the silliest name, pronounced "poo-holes."
4. DICK POLE
He's real and he's a former MLB player and current Cincinnati Reds pitching coach.
5. GAYLORD PERRY
Not that there's anything wrong with it, but his first name is Gaylord.
6. RUSTY KUNTZ
He is currently the first base coach for the KC Royals. That's all I will say about that.
7. ROBERT PERSON
Having the name "person" makes it look like you're labeled on the back of your jersey (rather than your name).
8. J.J. PUTZ
Currently on the NY Mets, Putz is not such a good name to have when you make mistakes.
9. TONY ARMAS
Every syllable of his name is a body part!
10. QUINTON McCRACKEN
Not as hilarious as it is amazing. Such a great baseball name. "Crack of the bat!"
11. JUNG BONG
He's a pitcher but also what people refer to when they get a new water pipe.
Not pictured but I assure you these are real actual names:
12. Pete LaCock
A former MLB first baseman/outfielder that played for the Cubs (1972-1976) and the Kansas City Royals (1977-1980).
13. Johnny Dickshot
A former MLB outfielder for the Pittsburgh Pirates, New York Giants, and the Chicago White Sox. He was also nicknamed "Ugly" because of his self-proclaimed status as the "ugliest man in baseball".
14. Jack Glasscock
An MLB shortstop who played for several teams from 1879 to 1895 during the sport's bare-handed era. He might have been bare-handed but I hope he wore a cup, if ya know what I'm sayin'.
