The Roots Walk on Music: Part 5

Posted by Jon Friedman January 25, 2010 1:30 PM

Over this weekend, The Roots own, Questlove tweeted out (via twitlonger) a detailed explanation of how the business of walk on music works. What a great time to post Part 5 of the list of walk on music they do for Late Night! It's such a treat to be able to watch The Roots play every night. One of the overwhelming favorites of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon is the creativity and thought The Roots put in to deciding what songs to play as each guest walks on. Have you ever paid attention to that? It's a fun game to figure out why they chose what they chose. Sometimes it's obvious but sometimes it takes more thought to find the connection. Can you name why they played what they played? We've been keeping track of all the songs for you. Here's the most recently updated list:

Susie Essman: "Sh*t Damn Mother Fu**er", D'Angelo
Julianne Moore: "Rebel Yell", Billy Idol
